Academy

STRICTLY TUFC

Saturday 24th October at the Red Cow Hotel saw the culmination of many weeks of committed hard work by our Strictly Come Dancing crew. The crowds turned out in huge numbers to support their favourites. The style and glamour was there for all to see. The Thirteen dancing couples were masterful on stage and gave us a night that will live long in the memory. The Judging panel were mightily impressed. After the dancing finished, the prizes were presented, but in truth they were all Champions.

Events like this don’t just happen, they are meticulously planned. A huge debt of gratitude is owed to our Organising Committee for their endeavour behind the scenes to ensure the event ran with Military precision. Thanks here must also be given to the promoters KR events whose guidance and expertise was invaluable.

The purpose of the night was fundraising. Huge thanks and gratitude to our Principal Sponsors, Massey Brothers, Glenhaze Distribution, Toyota Longmile and Classic Bathrooms for their contributions. Thank you also to the many other sponsors and advertisers (too numerous to mention here) who gave generously to ensure our efforts would be a success. Please support them when you can. To those that bought tickets to attend our wonderful gala and those that individually sponsored our dancers, we hope you enjoyed the event. Seeing our dancers perform so well, (some through pain, injury and illness that mere mortals would struggle to overcome) was your reward for your support.

An official DVD will be produced shortly and will be presented to the dancers as a souvenir of their fantastic efforts. This will also be available to purchase if you so wish. Watch this space for details.

Finally, as we are trying to come up with a final tally of funds raised, if there is any outstanding sponsorship money floating around out there, can you please get it back to a committee member (Denise Warren, Peter Nolan, Peter Bowden, Eamonn Synnott or Philip Morley) as soon as possible or bring it to the Bar clearly marked and identified. Some photos of the event can be viewed here, https://goo.gl/2qxQFm AND https://www.flickr.com/photos/137277411@N05

Annual Subscriptions

It is now the middle of October and there are still annual subscriptions outstanding. This is unfair to the vast majority of members who have paid promptly. The Executive Committee has to devote far to much time to chasing unpaid subscriptions, this time could be far better used persuing other projects within the Club. The Club will be implimenting a strict NO PAY NO PLAY policy again this season.

All outstanding subscriptions must be paid immediately

Sports Capital Grant

Templeogue United is pleased to announce that it has been allocated 85,000 Euro towards the development of our new pitch. These funds together with monies raised through Strictly TUFC, the club will be able to build a top quality pitch which will serve all of our teams now and for many years to come.

The Club would like to thank all those who helped in the preparation of our application and we look forward to working in partnership with South Dublin County Council in the development of the pitch.

Don't X the Line

Templeogue United has decided to apply the DON'T X THE LINE policy introduced by the DDSL for our small sided games. When the new round of fixtures kicks off in February two areas will be roped off approx 5 feet from the sideline behind which both sets of parents must stand. All that should be heard from these areas is encouragement of all of the players, we would ask our parents to lead by example. See new pitch layout

DDSL Directive regarding Referees

The DDSL has directed Referees to abandon games if they receive abuse from Managers, Players, or Parents. The three points will be awarded to the opposing team. The offending team will be fined 100 Euro. The Manager, Player, or Parent will be required by the Club to pay the fine.

Club Insurance

Below is the text of a mail received by the club from our Player insurance Scheme

"At First Ireland we are committed to ensuring your claim is processed as quickly as possible with efficiency, care and support to you our valued Client.

It is now a requirement of Insurers that all incidents are reported to our office within 30 days of the injury occurring. This shall assist us in improving claims performance and Management and process your Claim more efficiently.

Important: Should the claim be reported outside 30 days, the Underwriters may exercise their right to refuse the claim."

Templeogue United's Irish Internationals

Templeogues Under17 Internationals helped Ireland qualify for the elite phase of the European Cup beating the Faroe Islands and Gibraltar in recent days. They have one game left against Scotland at the weekend. Both Conor Davis and Steven Kinsella scored for Ireland. Pictured: Avis Ganiyu (Sunderland), Steven Kinsella (Everton), Conor Davis (Reading) & Shane Hanney(Shamrock Rovers).

Denis Riordan (15aManager) writes:

Evan Cullen was made captain last Sunday in our first league game in SDFL Under 15 Division 1. We observed a minutes silence in respect of Evans dad Kevin Cullen who lost his battle with cancer the previous week. Evan did his family proud by scoring a fantastic hat-trick.

It started from a great team move started from defence and Evans goal beat the Shankill keeper by dipping volley over his head and dropping in off the far post.

Evans second goal was from the penalty spot where he was not letting any of our designated penalty takers the opportunity to take the kick. Evan hit the ball high over the static goalkeeper.

The hat-trick was from a corner where Evan soared higher that anybody to head a beauty in, nearly breaking the net from the strength of the header.

We ran out 5-1 winners and are very proud of the team and the Man of the Match performance by Evan.

Team Sponsorship

Most of our teams could do with some sponsorship to provide kit and coaching accessories. Sponsorship can be for anything from training balls to tracksuits to team kit. In return sponsors are listed on our Sponsor page on the web site with a link if required as well as a logo on any kit provided. VAT receipts are available where required. If you or your company are in a position to provide sponsorship please contact your manager or email Niall at shop@templeogueunited.com

Garda Vetting

All Managers and Assistants must be garda vetted. New managers and assistants and others who have not undergone the procedure should fill out the vetting form and place it in the secure box in the bar. All applications are subject to the stricted confidence.

Another Templeogue United Player gets an Ireland Call Up

Shane Hanney, another star of last seasons under 16 team, has been called into the Ireland Under 17 squad, joining former players Steven Kinsella (Everton) and Conor Davis (Reading). Shane is an excellent player who commands the middle of the park. Congratulations Shane.

Third Player signs for UK Club

Conor Davis from last seasons Under 16 team has signed Championship side Reading bringing the total number of Templeogue United players the sign for UK clubs this year to three. Conor is an outstanding player and has been a fixture in the Ireland squad. We wish him every success in the future and hope to see him in the Club when he returns for holidays

Pitch Development

We will soon be commencing work of our pitches to get them ready for the start of the season. We will be continuing to improve our playing surfaces and we are also putting a container between Pitch 15 and 16 which will greatly reduce the the effort involved in marking the pitches and putting up the nets. These works are only possible as a result of the fundraising that was done last season.

Winner of Special Draw

The winner of the special draw for those who purchased tickets for the FAI draw during the mini world cup was Joanne Cartwright.

The prize is Premium level tickets for Irelands home games next season in the Aviva Stadium

Congratulations Joanne!

Club Person Of The Year

Steven Kinsella, who recently signed for Everton, was presented with the Tiernan O'Neill Memorial Award by Lorcan O'Neill snd his dad Paul.

Steven has been with Templeogue United since the Academy and has won numerous DDSL League Winners medals together with several All Ireland titles with his team. He has been capped by Ireland at Under 16 and Under 17 even though he is still only 15. He leaves the Club this season to follow his dream with Everton.

We wish him well in the future and hope to see him continuing on in the green of Ireland.

Under 11 Team Win the A1 League

Well done to Stephen Collier and his team of Under 11s won the A1 league beating Cabinteely 4-1 in a play-off. By all accounts it was a cracking match with Templeogue only pulling away to win comfortably towards the end of the second half. Steven and the boys are now looking forward to the new season at 9-s-side and the new challenge that it presents.

Avis Ganiyu Signs For Sunderland

Avis recently put pen to paper for Sunderland AFC who he will be joining during the summer. Avis joined Alan Kinsella's highly successful team from Firhouse two seasons ago. He has been capped by Ireland at under 15 and under 16 level. Sunderland have been monitoring his progress for several years and have been very pleased with his developement and as a result signed up to their academy programme. We wish him every success in the future.

Under 16 Cup Final

Possibly the last chance to see Steven Kinsella, Avis Ganiu and Conor Davis before they depart for their professional Clubs in the UK. Our Premier team is playing old rivals St Kevins Boys at Mobhi Rd on Wednesday at 6.45.

The team would welcome your support.

Mini World Cup

Over the years, Templeogue United's Mini World Cup has been the major summer event in Tymon Park. This year it takes place between June 7 and June 22. It’s open to all born between 2001 and 2007 (incl), members and non-members, and attracts hundreds of young local players as well as many from further afield to enjoy a final blast of football before the summer holidays. Our pitches, adjacent to the Clubhouse, are in continuous use throughout the tournament. All finals will be held on Sunday 22nd June with the presentations made at the Clubhouse where a stage will be erected. Download Entry Form here: miniworldcup2014.pdf. Another Templepogue United Player Honoured

Jamie Mulhall, who played for our Under 17 Premier team has been selected for the Ireland Under 18 Squad. Jamie attracted interest from yhe UK but decided to stay in Ireland. He joined Longford Town directly from our under 17 team and is doing very well there. He has recently recovered from a broken leg, so his selection will come as a welcome boost for him.

Jamie was with Templeogue throughout his schoolboy carreer having started with the Academy.

Templeogue Girls Shine in the Dark (23 March 2014)

Our Under 18 Girls triumphed in the Lee Brothers Cup Final against a very strong Ratoath Harps team. The game was played at a very high tempo and there was no shortage of skill on diaplay. Emma Young (pictured) scored a goal in both halves to secure victory and was duly awarded player of the match. See Full Match Report.

All of the Girls who played today can play again next season, so the future is bright. Any other girls out there aho want to play football?

The only negetive in the whole game was the failure of the organisers to turn on the lights, as a result the game finished in semi darkness

Race Night

Our Race Night is fast approaching. All players should have received a race sheet by now. As this is our only Major fundraising event of the season it is vital that we sell as many horses as possible. The funds raised go into pitch development. Over the last two seasons we have spent 15,000 euro on our pitches, we need to continue this level of investment to maintain and improve the playing surfaces.

23 March 2014

Congratulations to (L-R) Niamh Leacy, Katie Mahon and Laura Leacy from our Girls Under 18 team, who represented the Metropolitan Girls League and won the WFAI Under 18 Inter League Cup at the AUL on Saturday 22nd March. The three girls are pictured with the Cup.

Steven Kinsella signs for Everton FC

A great day for Steven and his family and also a great day for Templeogue United Football Club.

Steven signed after playing for the Irish Under 17 team against the Everton Under 18 team, a game in which Steven scored against his new Club.

Fear not, Steven will be playing for Templeogue for the rest of the season, hopefully helping the team to yet another league title.

Steven started with Templeogue United in the Academy under the tutelage of Club Coach and father, Alan. His team benefited from the then brand new all weather. The Club were quickly aware that they had an execeptional group of players and did everything in their power to keep them together. Since Under 11 the team has won the league every season bar one.

From a young age Steven has attracted the attention of scouts from across the water. Steven has always been a player of execptional ability, playing on the left, the right, the middle, and upfront. He has been seen playing in goal on the all weather. All of the top teams were chasing his signature but Everton won the race. Roberto Martinez came over to meet Steven's family and swung the deal. Everton have a proven track record in bringing talent through from their youth setup. Wayne Rooney played at seventeen.

The Club is rightly proud of its contribution to Steven's development and wishes him every success in the future.

Steven is not the only one to have attracted attention, several other players have been on trials in England, and more good news is imminent, so watch this space.

It has been a very busy summer for some of our players.

Templeogue United have teamed up with the Liberties Charity.

The Clothes Bank in front of the Clubhouse belongs to them and is one of the few that is truly for charity.

We are asking our parents and members to deposit their old clothes in this bin.

We promised that we would put on a special drive during the Mini World Cup.
