GARDA VETTING IS COMPULSORY
All Templeogue United managers , coaches and team assistants (schoolboy teams) must be vetted by an Garda Siochana by 30 September 2017 , or have applied for vetting .
The procedure is simple, and hard copies of the 2 forms required have been left in the Club Bar this week and should be completed by those who have yet to apply. Alternatively the forms can be downloaded.
The first form entitled "Garda Vetting ID Validation Form" is a 2-sided form, front page for basic details and back page I.D. details [usually this will be a copy of driving licence or passport PLUS copy of utility bill - gas or electricity not more than 6 months old] . Section 2 of this form will be competed by Kevin Condon, who is designated as an Authorised Person for this purpose
The second form NVB1 is a new form to provide basic details including an email address
Return both forms completed to me, Kevin Condon [safe box in Bar, or by hand].
I will forward these forms to FAI and they will contact you directly to complete the process ON-LINE.
As before, as soon as vetting is completed by the Garda and you receive a letter (or on-line notification) a copy of this must be given by you IMMEDIATELY to Kevin Condon (on behalf of the Club)

Pitch Development Update
Following discussions between SDCC, Prunty (Contractor) and the Pitch Consultant, Templeogue United and St Judes have been informed that our Pitch Development has been deferred until next Spring.
The rational for the deferral is that there is too much risk to the success of the project by starting it in September.
The main concerns are;
- Likelihood of unfavourable weather causing delays to the project.
- Unfavourable weather may result in an inferior finished pitch due to soil compaction.
- In a delayed construction scenario, significant parts of the Park could be out of commission to the public for up to 9 months.
Work on the project is now scheduled to commence in mid-March 2018.
While it is disappointing that the project has been delayed, the priority is to ensure that the project is not compromised by taking unnecessary risks.
11 Players Head Off to Reading
Tomorrow sees 11 of our underage players travel across the water to train with the Reading FC academy at their respective age groups for 3 days.
This is a great opportunity for the development of our players and a credit to the club. Last year we had 5 teams travel to Reading to play against their academy teams and this next step shows our continued growth of relationship with Reading FC.
We would like to wish all the boys well and look forward to the Reading coaches coming over at the end of the month to carry out a 3 day workshop and coaches presentation.

Still tired from their hard work on the previous night the played the Academy squad on Saturday morning, loosing 2-1 in a hard fought contest. .
That afternoon they attended the Reading game against Bristol City. All of the children behaved impeccably and were a credit to the Club and their parents.
