In keeping with our aim of providing better quality playing surfaces for all of our teams, the Club has decided that a major investment is needed.
To this end it is proposed to drain and level the area adjacent to the clubhouse which will accommodate two small sided pitches across the area, as well as an 11 a side pitch length ways. The cost of the development will be in excess of €100,000. We intend to apply for a Sports Capital Grant. In order to qualify we must raise a portion of the funding ourselves. We also intend to continue our annual improvements to our other pitches.
Our first step in this journey starts with our sponsored run/walk. This is our biggest undertaking since the development of the clubhouse. We would really appreciate it if everyone get’s behind their club to enable us to provide top quality playing surfaces for our children now and for many years to come As a first step in raising these funds we are holding a
Sponsored Walk/Run (The Tymon Challenge)
in the park on 26 April 2015. The event will take place in the afternoon when matches are finished. It is hoped that our players, managers, parents, and supporters will take part and raise sponsorship. All funds raised will be ring fenced for pitch development.
Further Fundraising Events
The Club is planning a major Fundraising event later in the year, possibly “Strictly Come Dancing” or “The Cube” or something along these lines. However, we need volunteers to come on board to help organise and run this event. We are hoping some parents will help us in these fund raising initiatives to deliver quality pitches and facilities for all of our teams, present and future. If you can interested in helping in any way please mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org
Phase II of our development is also at the planning stage. This will consist of the redevelopment of the dressing room areas which are no longer fit for purpose. The planning for this development is at a very early stage. We will issue further updates as plans proceed. Again if you can lend any expertise in this area please email email@example.com
